Matsuda was planning something by the smug grin he attempted to hide from view, but failed in doing so as it continued to annoy both L and Light. And they knew exactly what he was scheming, too.
"Matsuda-san," L spoke, tip of his finger balanced delicately on his bottom lip, "You wouldn't be planning to decorate my building in season tidings behind my back, would you? I have already stated previously that I disapproved of such a thing. I cannot afford to have holiday decorations taking my attention. We have a very serious case to work on."
Light ruffled some papers. He didn't look at the detective because L had stared at the computer screen for over two hours and had not looked at anything else; he often wondered how well L's eyesight really was because he often saw things quickly and with detail, but all that time before the screen had to make some damage.

LxLightL and light sat in lights room silently as they both watched the girl in front of them smile and spin in her chair. she was looking over L's notes reading it quickly. she stopped at an note and laughed at what it said.
"what's this?" the girl asked as she gave the note pad back to L. L bit his thumb as he looked and the page the girl was talking about. he looked back up at his friend with a slight blush.
"nothing. that was nothing." the girl snatched the book back from L and looked at the page laughing again.
"this doesn't look like "nothing" L. ne light-kun?" the girl went to show light but L grabbed the book out of her hands.
"NO!! windy-chan this book wasn't meant for light to see!!!" windy-chan laughed loudly and grabbed to book back and put it in lights hands before running out the door.
"there's a 50% chance that you won't like that note." L bit his thumb again as Light read over the page. light threw the book aside and kissed L lightly bringing the mess haired boy closer.
